Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the Terms) govern your download, installation, and use of the Strofi macOS application, including its official updates and documentation (collectively, Strofi or the App).

By selecting the acceptance checkbox during onboarding and using Strofi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not complete onboarding or use the App. Strofi does not require an account. Your acceptance record, including the completion time, is stored locally on your Mac as described in the Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity under the laws where you live to enter into these Terms. If you are at least 16 but have not reached the age of majority or otherwise lack legal capacity to enter into these Terms, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf and permit your use of Strofi. By using Strofi, you represent that these requirements are met.

You may use Strofi only where doing so is lawful, and you are responsible for complying with the laws and regulations that apply to you.

Subject to these Terms, the operator grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, worldwide license to install and use Strofi on devices that you own or control for your personal use only. You may use Strofi for your own individual work, but you may not use it on behalf of an organization or make it available for use by an organization.

Strofi is licensed, not sold. The operator and applicable licensors retain all rights in the App that are not expressly granted under these Terms.

The public beta is currently provided free of charge. Free beta access does not guarantee that every current or future version, feature, or service will remain free. You will not be charged unless pricing is introduced and you separately choose to purchase a paid offering under the terms presented at that time.

You may not, and may not help another person to:

• Use Strofi in violation of applicable law or another person's rights
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially provide the App to another person without permission
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works from Strofi except where applicable law or an applicable open-source license expressly permits it
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover Strofi's source code, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by law
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with security, signing, update, permission, or access-control mechanisms
• Use Strofi or its components to introduce malicious code, damage systems or data, or gain unauthorized access
• Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices

In these Terms, Activity Datameans the locally processed activity metadata described in the Privacy Policy.

You retain all rights you have in your files, web pages, app-based items, and other materials you use with Strofi. These Terms do not give the operator ownership of those materials.

Strofi uses supported macOS permissions and system interfaces to create a local activity timeline, reopen items, and recommend related items. The App may display titles, paths, URLs, and other metadata obtained from your Mac or third-party apps. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Strofi and the materials you access through it is lawful and properly authorized.

Strofi is not a backup or archival service. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your files and other important data. Features such as Delete Activity History and Uninstall Strofi permanently remove the local data described in the Privacy Policy, and deleted data may not be recoverable.

Strofi may use local activity patterns to recommend or reopen files, web pages, and app-based items. Recommendations, relationships, availability indicators, and reopening results may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or incorrect. You remain responsible for reviewing an item before relying on it or taking action based on it.

Strofi does not provide legal, financial, medical, security, or other professional advice and does not guarantee any particular work outcome.

Strofi may interact with or open third-party apps, websites, files, and services at your request. Those third-party products are provided independently and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not control and is not responsible for the availability, content, independent security or privacy practices, changes, or actions of third-party apps, websites, files, or services that you choose to access or open through Strofi. Changes made by an independent provider may limit or prevent a Strofi feature from working.

This limitation does not exclude or limit the operator's responsibilities under applicable law for third-party providers engaged by the operator to provide Strofi, including analytics, download, or update services described in the Privacy Policy.

Strofi may contain third-party or open-source software. Separate license terms provided with those components apply to them and take priority if they conflict with these Terms.

Strofi's handling of information is described in the Strofi Privacy Policy, available at https://strofi.app/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy is separate from these Terms and explains Strofi's local-first design, limited product analytics, data retention, and available controls.

Strofi is currently beta software. It may contain errors, incomplete features, or behavior that changes as the product develops. The operator may add, modify, limit, suspend, or remove features, or stop providing the App or updates, where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, compatibility with macOS or third-party apps and services, performance, reliability, stability, or reasonable product and operational needs.

Where reasonably practicable, the operator will provide advance notice through the App or the official Strofi website before a change that materially reduces Strofi's core functionality. A change will not impose a charge unless you separately agree to purchase a paid offering. If you do not agree with a change, you may stop using Strofi and use the available local deletion controls.

Strofi is distributed directly by the operator rather than through the Mac App Store. Official updates may be delivered through the App or the operator's official distribution infrastructure.

Updates may be required for continued compatibility, security, or access to certain features. The operator does not promise that Strofi will always be available, compatible with every macOS version or third-party app, or free from interruptions, errors, or data loss.

Strofi, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by the operator or applicable licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

If you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback, you grant the operator a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback to develop, improve, and promote Strofi without obligation to you. This does not give the operator ownership of your files or Activity Data.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Strofi is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and freedom from errors.

The operator does not warrant that Strofi will meet your requirements, preserve data without loss, provide accurate recommendations, successfully reopen every item, or operate without interruption. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business, opportunity, reputation, use, or data, arising out of or related to Strofi or these Terms, even if the possibility of such loss was known.

Subject to the paragraph below and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Strofi or these Terms will not exceed USD 60, or the equivalent amount in your local currency.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence; liability for death or personal injury where such liability cannot lawfully be limited; and any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

You may stop using Strofi at any time. You can remove local activity data using Delete Activity History, or remove local Strofi data and move the App to the Trash using Uninstall Strofi, as described in the Privacy Policy.

If you materially breach these Terms, your license to use Strofi terminates. This is a termination of legal permission to use the App, not a remote technical restriction. Because Strofi does not use an account system or remote access controls, the operator cannot remotely disable or uninstall the App on your Mac.

The operator may discontinue distribution or updates, but discontinuing distribution or updates is separate from terminating an individual user's license. The operator does not remotely delete Activity Data stored on your Mac.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination, including those concerning intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, will survive termination.

The operator may update these Terms to reflect changes to Strofi, applicable law, security requirements, or operating practices.

For a material change, the operator will provide reasonable advance notice through the App, the official Strofi website, or another appropriate method. The notice will identify the material change and its effective date. When advance notice is not reasonably practicable because of an urgent legal, security, or technical requirement, notice will be provided as soon as reasonably practicable.

Changes will not apply retroactively unless required by applicable law. If a notice states that continued use constitutes acceptance, your continued use of Strofi on or after the stated effective date means that you accept the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires affirmative acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Strofi before that date.

Strofi will request separate affirmative acceptance before a change takes effect where required by applicable law, including where necessary for a new charge, a material expansion of the collection or use of personal information that relies on consent, or a material restriction of user rights.

The Last Updated date identifies the most recent revision, and the Effective Date identifies when the current Terms take effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This choice does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply under the laws of your country or region.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or Strofi will be submitted to a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. Before filing a formal claim, the parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally where practicable.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to do so later.

You may not transfer these Terms or your license without the operator's prior written permission. The operator may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the Strofi business.

These Terms form the entire agreement between you and the operator concerning your use of Strofi and replace prior agreements or communications about the same subject. The Privacy Policy is a separate notice describing information handling practices and is not incorporated into these Terms as a contractual term.

The English version of these Terms is the primary version, and the Korean translation is provided as a supplementary language version. If the two versions conflict, the English version will control to the extent permitted by applicable law. This language clause does not limit any right or protection provided by mandatory law, including requirements concerning the language in which consumer terms must be provided or interpreted.
